Berlin, 2 September 2004 - The Sony DAV–LF1 (DAVLF1) is a home theatre system designed to team with a plasma TV or flat screen LCD TV to create a stunning audio and visual experience.

SIMPLY WIRELESS

The four floor-standing speakers mirror flat screen design by being only 50.5 mm in depth and can be either hung on the wall or placed on ultra-thin stands. Infrared wireless audio transmission to the rear speakers is possible thanks to Sony’s S–DIAT technology. In addition to reducing the number of cables linking to the main unit, the advantages of S-DIAT include enhanced sound quality and greater resistance to interference.

CUTTING EDGE PERFORMANCE

The DAV-LF1’s DVD has full 5.1 surround sound, Dolby® Digital/ dts®/Dolby® Pro Logic® II and multi-channel Super Audio CD (SA-CD) capability to satisfy both music and film buffs. It has the added benefit of not needing to be placed below the screen, letting the plasma TV revel in its own glory.

The DAV-LF1’s subwoofer hides a multitude of technology treats. Measuring a discreet 241x606x241mm, this little powerhouse uses Sony’s award-winning S-Master speaker technology, encasing separate amplifiers for the front left, right and centre speakers.

While other brands dedicate only one amplifier for the subwoofer, the Sony DAV-LF1 delivers two. A Digital Direct Twin Drive Subwoofer with a total of 600 watts of system power produces powerful, well-defined bass. Maximising the quality of audio at every volume level, Sony S-Master delivers a crisp surround sound experience that you can really feel.

INSPIRATIONAL DESIGN

Everything about the Sony DAV-LF1 has been designed to compliment modern living. The ‘floating design’ of the DVD player with its touch sensitive controls, looks perfect near a plasma screen, while the ultra thin, brushed-metal speakers are stylish yet understated. This allows multiple layout possibilities, letting the design of the room, rather than the kit itself, dictate placement.

The Sony DAV-LF1 will be available in the UK & across Europe from October 2004.
